Surprisingly, my modest website attracts 60-70 persons per day for a long long time even if I did not create new content for a while. I am looking to make my website grow and post new content more regularly. There are 2 reasons why I did not post new contents. First, my job keeps me very busy and secondly, sometimes there is something very cool that I have learned or discovered but it would only take a paragraph at most to explain it. Hence, it would not justify to write a full blown article/tutorial about it. Tutorial is the format that I used up to now to fill this website but today, I have decided to jump into the blog bandwagon.
What you can expect from this blog is to see programming tips or interesting information about C++. My selection criteria to decide whether something is worth publishing or not will be if I could find it easily in all my books or on the web by googling it. I am not sure yet if I will have to loosen up this criteria at some point but for starting, I have few topics in mind that I want write about such as explicit destructor calls in C++ templates or describing the intersection rule for overloaded function, how to declare a friend template function in a class template, etc...
Obviously my blog beginning is very humble. It is essentially just a web page that I will update from time to time. I would like to offer more functionality but I am not willing to start a blog on some free blog website because I want to keep full control over the content and I do not like the idea that someone else could moneytize this blog with advertisements. There are a lot of things that I want to improve in the future such as moving away from my ISP personal web space to a real web hosting business, offer more blogging functionality (more importantly being able to comment my posts) and finally, I would like to improve the design and layout of this website since I am a full time programmer, I do not know all the tricks about web editing. I am saying all that as a way to let you know that if you have any suggestions in any of these areas, you are very welcome to communicate them with me.
I want you to find in this blog informations about C++ programming that I had a hard time to find in the first place on the web.
